MEDICATION & PAIN MANAGEMENT

We hope you are recovering well following your recent procedure at Bravo Plastic Surgery. To aid in your post-operative care, your doctor may prescribe some medications to manage pain, inflammation, muscle relaxation, prevent infection, nausea, ensure appropriate blood clotting. Please carefully review and follow the instructions for each medication:

 

Antibiotics (the most important)

  • [Medication Name ]: Take [dosage] once daily as prescribed.

  • Begin taking the antibiotics according to the prescribed schedule.

  • Complete the entire course of antibiotics, even if your symptoms improve before finishing the medication.

  • To enhance absorption and reduce the likelihood of stomach upset, take the medication with food

 

Anticoagulants (if applicable, highly important):

  • [Medication Name ]: Take [dosage] once daily as directed.

  •  Follow the specific instructions provided by your surgeon regarding the duration and timing of anticoagulant usage.

  •   If you notice any unusual bleeding or bruising, please inform your surgeon promptly.

  • Bring them to your first postop appointment so we can administer the first dose for you.

Pain Management:

  • If your surgeon has prescribed Percocet/Oxycodone, please avoid taking it with Tylenol or any other medication containing acetaminophen to prevent exceeding the recommended dose.

  • Additionally, you may take Tramadol or Ibuprofen for pain relief.

  • Ibuprofen: Take 800mg every 8 hours, as required, to help manage pain. Ensure you do not exceed the recommended dosage or frequency.

  • It is advisable to take these medications with food to minimize the risk of stomach upset.

  • If you experience severe pain that is not relieved by the prescribed medications, kindly contact our office promptly.

 

Anti-Inflammatory:

  • This medication will help reduce inflammation and aid in your recovery process.

  • Take the medication with food to minimize the risk of stomach upset.

 

Muscle Relaxer:

  • This medication will help relax your muscles and alleviate any discomfort related to muscle tension.

  • Take the medication with food to minimize the risk of stomach upset.

  •  Follow the prescribed dosage and frequency instructions provided.

Nerve Pain:

  •  [Medication Name ]: Take [dosage] every [frequency] as directed.

  • This medication is used to treat nerve pain discomfort related to a surgery.

  • Take the medication with food to minimize the risk of stomach upset.

  •  Follow the prescribed dosage and frequency instructions provided.

 

Nausea Management:

  • [Medication Name ]: Take [dosage] take as needed for nausea or vomiting.

  • Use this medication only if you experience nausea or vomiting.

  • Follow the prescribed dosage and frequency instructions provided.

  • If persistent or severe nausea persists, please inform your surgery
