PATIENT'S COMPANION INFORMATION
Thank you for accompanying your relative/friend (our patient) to their upcoming procedure at Bravo Plastic Surgery. Your presence and support during this time are greatly appreciated. To ensure that you are well-prepared to assist our patient during their recovery, we would like to share some post-operative care instructions with you:
Transportation: Please ensure you are available to drive our patient to and from their first appointment. It is important to have a responsible adult with them during this time. Please arrange to stay with them for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
Assistance with activities: After their procedure, our patient will need your help with various activities during the initial stages of their recovery. This includes tasks such as preparing meals, getting dressed, and performing light household chores. Please be available and willing to lend a hand as needed.
Monitoring walking and rest periods: Our patient will be encouraged to walk for approximately 10 minutes every 2-3 hours to promote circulation and aid in healing. Please help them monitor and track their walking sessions. Additionally, ensure that they are getting enough rest throughout the day.
Assisting with garments and drains: Our patient will be provided with a compression garment to wear after the procedure. Please assist them in putting it on and taking it off as needed. If they have drains in place, familiarize yourself with the instructions provided by the surgeon and assist with drain care, including emptying and measuring the fluid output.
Encouraging hydration: It is crucial for our patient to stay hydrated during their recovery. Please remind them to drink plenty of water throughout the day. You can also help by keeping a water bottle nearby and offering fluids regularly.
Medication management: Our patient will be prescribed various medications to manage pain, prevent infection, and aid in healing. Please help them keep track of their medication schedule and ensure that they take the prescribed dosages at the appropriate times. If necessary, assist with organizing and refilling their medication supply.

Providing emotional support: Recovery can be a challenging time both physically and emotionally. Be there to listen, offer encouragement, and provide a comforting presence for our patient. Your support and understanding will play a significant role in their overall well-being.
Following post-operative instructions: Familiarize yourself with the post-operative instructions provided by the surgeon. This includes information on dressing changes, wound care, and any specific precautions or restrictions that our patient needs to follow. Help them adhere to these instructions to promote a smooth recovery.
If you have any questions or concerns during the recovery process, please do not hesitate to contact our office. We are here to support both you and our patient throughout this journey.
Thank you once again for your commitment to our patient well-being. Your presence and assistance will make a significant difference in their recovery.
